eat & drink : tropical sips

Although the sky isn’t quite as blue as I’d like it to be today, summer is practically upon us.  In an effort to try and hasten summer’s arrival, I have been enjoying some tasty, tropical sips.  They are so easy to make and are guaranteed to make your day just a little bit sunnier.

Sunset Sipper

Fill an 8 oz. glass with 1/2 orange juice and 1/2 tonic water (Sprite & 7-up work just as well). Add a splash of Grenadine and watch as your drink becomes a beautiful ombre sunset! Garnish with a fun straw & sip away!

Pineapple Smoothie

In a blender, combine 1 cup low-fat yogurt (I used vanilla instead of plain), 1 cup cut pineapple chunks, and 6 ice cubes.*  Blend until well combined.  Pour into a glass and chill in the fridge for 10 minutes.  Garnish with a pineapple wedge & enjoy.

*For a tasty variation, add a splash of rum before you blend.
